Cover Letter

Your cover letter is basically an introduction of your work experience, qualifications, skills and why you should be considered for the postion you are applying for.

You need to sell yourself to make an impression good enough for them to consider you for the next stage of the job interview process.

In your cover letter, you should include the following:
  • work experience
  • qualifications
  • skills and relevant abilities
  • why you are the ideal candidate for the position
Additional tips:
  • Each cover letter should be custom written to each job you are applying for
  • You don't need to include your entire work experience and so on...just relevant to the postion
  • Cover letter should be no more than one page
  • Three to four paragraph limit (with or without bullet points)
  • Letter style should be formal
Your cover letter should be able to make an immediate impression to allow you to move on the next stage of the interview process.  Remember that your cover letter is the first contact you are making with your perspective employer.
